Safari Highlights

This safari takes you to Serengeti National Park undoubtedly the best-known wildlife sanctuary in the world, to Lake Manyara, which is one of Tanzania's most prized parks consisting of a shallow soda lake (covering two-thirds of the park) and famous for the tree climibing lions, Ngorongoro Conservation Area that boasts a blend of landscapes, wildlife and archaeology that is unsurpassed in Africa, cooling off with a fantastic beach break on the tropical Islands of Zanzibar overlooking the Indian Oceans with white sand beaches and spectacular coral gardens.

Itinerary

Day 1: Welcome to Arusha

You will be met on arrival by our representative at Arusha International airport and checked-in dinner and overnight at the hotel of your choice (budget or luxury)

Day 2: Transfer to Ngorogoro Conservation Area via Lake Manyara

Breakfast followed by a check-out and drive to Ngorogoro Conservation area with interesting stopovers. This drive through traditional African villages and vast plantations of maize, coffee and bananas on the way to Ngorogoro Crater is awesome. You will arrive in time for lunch; checking-in at the accommodation facility of your choice (budget or luxury). And the rest of the day will be spent at leisure relaxing and enjoying the lodge’s facilities. In the evening you will set off for a sunset game drive at the Crater area, here all of the big 5 are present, living a privileged existence on the crater floor, so placid you can almost move quietly among them.

Day 3: Transfer to Serengeti NP

Check out after breakfast followed by a drive to Olduvai Gorge, “the cradle of mankind” to see the first footprints of mankind. The Gorge lies on the site of an ancient lake, covered by thick layers of volcanic ash, which carefully preserved the world's earliest records of mankind. A visit to the adjacent museum displaying some of these fascinating discoveries and remarkable finds is historical. After this we break off for lunch before proceeding to the famous Serengeti plains, arriving in the evening and enjoying scattered game viewing on the way to your hotel, check-in, dinner and overnight at the accommodation facility of your choice (budget or luxury)

Day 4: Full Day in Serengeti NP

Today you will explore the Serengeti National Park with a balloon ride in the pre-dawn hours of the morning. Hot-air-balloon safari is a one-hour experience in the air allowing you to see the plains from higher above offering an excellent photographic opportunity of the wildlife below. You will be met on landing and served bush breakfast, complete with champagne in ‘out of Africa style!’ After the Bush breakfast you will be driven back to the lodge to relax and take the rest of the day at leisure with the option of visiting the local communities in the neighbourhood.

In the evening you will explore this treasured park with a 4x4 safari vehicle during a sunset game drives, returning to the lodge to cool off over a drink and dinner by the pool.

Day 5: Transfer to Lake Manyara (4-5hrs)

Breakfast followed by checkout and a drive to Lake Manyara, one of Tanzania's most prized parks, arriving in the early afternoon, lunch en route. Check-in will be at the Lake Manyara Hotel or accommodation facility of your choice (budget or luxury) thereafter you will relax and take the rest of your day at leisure.

Day 6: Game Drive

Wake up early and set off on a game drive in the Lake Manyara National park. The park is famous for tree climbing lions, and a wide variety of animals, including one of Africa's largest concentrations of elephants. Other attractions in the park includes the giraffe, leopard, civet, black rhino, hippo, zebra, impala, antelope, the shy pangolin, bushbuck, waterbuck, as well as large flocks of flamingos, attracted by the algae in the lake. Lake Manyara also boasts one of the highest concentrations of baboons in Africa. 

In the afternoon you will enjoy a relaxing boat cruise on Manyara Lake, spotting birds like the flamingos and other water based animals. After the cruise you will return to the hotel to relax till dinner and overnight

Day 7: Transfer to Zanzibar

A relaxed breakfast followed by checkout and a drive to Arusha International airport for a local flight to Zanzibar. You will be met on arrival by our representative at Zanzibar International Airport and taken for lunch before conducting a city tour introducing you to the oldest stone town.

City Tour (Stone Town Tour)

This tour gives you the opportunity to mingle with the local people at the busy market where you can not only see, but taste the seasonal fruits of Zanzibar. The tour proceeds to the historical sites like the Former slave market (now Cathedral Church of Christ), Peace Memorial Museum, The Old Fort, House of Wonders, Palace Museum (where the rise and fall of the Abusaid Dynasty is recorded), Tippu Tip House, Mambo Msiige (do not imitate) building which housed the British Consulate and Dr. Livingstone’s last home in Africa. You will break off for lunch (where you can enjoy coastal food) in between your tour. Then we finish the tour by walking through the World’s narrowest streets in the Stone Town where you can buy curios and souvenirs.

Transfer to the Beach (1-2 hrs)

After the city tour we will drive you out of town to the beaches - the beaches are a paradise, a modern resort nestle in theshade of coconut palms, providing cool and comfortable retreats. Check-in, dinner and overnight at the accommodation facility of your choice (budget or luxury)

Day 8: Full Day at Zanzibar white sand beaches

Wake up in the morning with a relaxed breakfast to the breezes of the Indian Oceans. On Zanzibar’s North-East cost are the beaches of Matemwe, Mapenzi, Kiwenga and Uroa with their wide stretches of uncrowned sands and opportunities to explore the underwater world.

On this day you can choose among the following options which are all intriguing and rewarding.

Sun bathing and swimming Scuba diving and Dhow cruising Dolphin Tour Snorkling, & Sports fishing

Day 9: Islands Tour

Fifty kilometres off the cost of Zanzibar is Pemba Islands, although smaller than Zanzibar, it grows three times as many cloves. It has its own distinct character with historical monuments such as ruined mosques and tombs. Its main town Chaka Chaka has the remains of 200yrs old Arab fort nearby. Ngezi nearby has rare trees not found elsewhere in the world, it also has the indigenous flying fox, blue duikers and various owls. The Pemba Channel offers some of the best game fishing.

The Pristine Islands

Mnemba Islands if off the North-East coast of Zanzibar in its own tranquil lagoons.

Chumbe Islands boasting splendid beaches and spectacular carol reefs, alive with fish, is renowned as the ultimate in “bare foot luxury”.  It is a rare example of a still pristine coral Islands - one of the most spectacular coral gardens to be found any where in the world.

Day 10: Departure

After a relaxed breakfast our representative will drop you at Zanzibar International airport in time for your flight home.
